Information for Administrators
District superintendents and their senior staff are charting the path to the New Mexico Common Core State Standards (NMCCSS). The systemic reorganization of curriculum and instruction that the NMCCSS demand will only be accomplished as the result of district-led, principal-driven, teacher-championed changes in school culture and expectations. Superintendents in New Mexico are embracing the Common Core State Standards as the vehicle that can drive achievement gains for both low performing and high performing students, but that requires partnerships at the state and local levels.
Research shows us that district vision and leadership are essential to student success. The resources on this site provide administrators the means to correspond with each other and share a set of high quality tools that can help them shape the implementation of the NMCCSS in their schools.
